During a July 1 ceremony in Kigali, Irakoze pledged to champion cross-club collaboration, engage youth, and position the club as a\u00a0model of purpose-driven action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen we unite for good, we amplify our impact. Rotary is not just about giving\u2014it\u2019s about connecting, empowering, and transforming,\u201d Irakoze said, speaking under the global Rotary theme&nbsp;<em>\u201cUnite for Good.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rotarians from across Rwanda and distinguished guests\u2014including French Ambassador to Rwanda, Antoine Anfr\u00e9, who served as guest of honour\u2014attended the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI stand here deeply honoured and ready to lead with a heart for service and a mind for solutions,\u201d Irakoze said. \u201cWe will grow our membership, strengthen our club\u2019s dynamism, and launch flagship projects that uplift vulnerable communities\u2014not just in words, but with measurable, lasting impact.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amb. Anfr\u00e9 applauded Rotary\u2019s grassroots impact, drawing parallels between service and diplomacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cRotary does what diplomacy often dreams of\u2014changing lives through daily acts of compassion,\u201d he said. \u201cBy providing clean water, supporting children with special needs, or empowering women to stitch a new chapter for their future, you remind us that service knows no borders and no small actions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"799\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/rbo.rw\/rotary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/55322865311_930e78c3df_c.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44846\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rbo.rw\/rotary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/55322865311_930e78c3df_c.jpg 799w, https:\/\/rbo.rw\/rotary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/55322865311_930e78c3df_c-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rbo.rw\/rotary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/55322865311_930e78c3df_c-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/rbo.rw\/rotary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/55322865311_930e78c3df_c-365x243.jpg 365w, https:\/\/rbo.rw\/rotary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/55322865311_930e78c3df_c-600x400.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 799px) 100vw, 799px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Freddy Mutanguha (L) recognized by the new president for his service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Outgoing president Freddy Mutanguha reflected on a year guided by the theme&nbsp;<em>\u201cThe Magic of Rotary.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur club witnessed the true magic of Rotary\u2014reaching those who needed us most,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Key achievements, according to Mutanguha, included: supporting people with albinism by providing skin-protective lotions, sun-safe eyewear, and access to cancer screening, donating 12 sewing machines to Nyamagabe Correctional Facility to equip incarcerated women with vocational skills and a path to reintegration, and collaborating with Autism Rwanda to raise awareness, support educational needs, and promote inclusion for children on the autism spectrum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delivering clean water to communities in Rutsiro District, in partnership with Rotary Club Vitr\u00e9 (France), was another key achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mutanguha also led the club in celebrating its 25th anniversary\u2014a milestone marked by pride, reflection, and a renewed commitment to Rotary\u2019s motto&nbsp;<em>\u201cService Above Self.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Members also celebrated significant membership growth, joining Rotary\u2019s global network of 1.4 million members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With new leadership at the helm and a vision rooted in unity and action, Rotary Club Kigali Mont Jali enters its next chapter with energy, purpose, and a promise to serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newtimes.co.rw\/article\/27726\/news\/rwanda\/new-club-rotary-mont-jali-president-pledges-youth-focus-stronger-impact\"><em>Source: The New Times Rwanda<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rotary Club Kigali Mont Jali ushered in new leadership with the installation of\u00a0Claver Irakoze\u00a0as president for the 2025\/2026 Rotary year.
