Masaka Creamery was established in 2015 as a vehicle for launching a high-quality dairy creamery in Rwanda. Its factory is located in Kigali’s Special Economic Zone (SEZ) where it produces yoghurts, fermented milk, fresh cream and butter for the domestic and regional markets. The company works directly with smallholder milk farmers, cooperatives and milk collection centres that produce the milk that is required to make Masaka Creamery’s high quality cultured dairy products.

As part of its mission, Masaka Creamery uses intentional hiring practices and empowers people from socially -excluded communities. Today, over half of its workforce is deaf.

Masaka Creamery has established a strong brand presence across Rwanda and is well-known for its superior yoghurt products. To ensure that its produces are safe and hygienic, Masaka Creamery has obtained several food safety certifications including Smark by the Rwanda Standards Board, RFDA, HACCP,and its processing is built upon food safety principles and guidelines
